Diverse Melodies and Harmonies that Unite Us in Worship and Community at North Community Church
At NCC, music reflects the heart of our church’s philosophy — diverse, inclusive, and deeply enriching. We welcome all members to share their musical talents, whether it’s a one-time solo performance or becoming a part of our regular worship experience.
Our vibrant choir graces us with their voices every Sunday, while we’ve been blessed by talented individuals who’ve joined us, playing instruments ranging from guitar and flute to clarinet and percussion.
From time to time, we’re honored to host guest musicians, including professional trumpet players, flutists, and violinists. Our guests have included acclaimed artists such as singer/songwriter Jim Scott, The New England Gospel Ensemble, Joyful Voices of Inspiration, and The Loft String Quartet.

Choir
Choir rehearsals are at 7pm on Wednesday nights in the sanctuary. All Are Welcome! We welcome anyone to join at any time during the year. We have a small break from June through August.
Meet the Music Director
Meet Diana Barnes, our Music Director at North Community Church since 2005. With a degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, Diana brings a wealth of musical expertise to our congregation.
Diana’s passion for music extends beyond our church, as she’s been involved in various community acapella ensembles, The Pilgrim Festival Chorus, and directed a choir at The Village at Duxbury. She’s also served on the board of the UCC Musician’s Association and attends educational conferences nationwide.
In addition to directing our music program, Diana teaches private piano lessons in our church sanctuary.
Diana embodies our church’s values of inclusivity and spiritual growth through her dedication to creating meaningful musical experiences for all. Join us in celebrating her contributions to our musical journey at North Community Church.
Piano Lessons
Private piano lessons are available from September to May for ages 7- adult. Please speak to our Music Director for any information on this if interested.
