Candidating Weekend

Wow what a weekend! It was a candidating weekend like no other. The fun started Saturday with Rev. Andrew and his husband Ashton braving the heat at the Rib cook off to meet members of our congregation as well as the greater Marshfield community. They said hello and held conversations with so many people. Thank you all for being so friendly, welcoming and un-apologetically yourselves. Rev. Andrew and Ashton were very thankful to be able to meet everyone in this casual and friendly atmosphere and experience an important fundraiser that supports the local community and our mission trips. They came away with a good sense of “us” by the end of the day.

Sunday was filled with joy and anticipation. Many thanks to Rev Ann, Susan Driscoll and John LoConte for helping Rev Andrew acclimate to our worship flow and traditions to prepare him for the service. We are also immensely thankful for Diana and the choir for starting a week early to fill our sanctuary with beautiful music on this special day. What a great turnout in church with much enthusiasm, thoughtfulness and laughter in the air. Even the babies chimed in cheerfully. Our congregation unanimously voted in favor of Rev. Andrew Ponder Williams becoming our new settled pastor. He is delighted to officially join us on October 1st.

With our search now complete we wish to thank you for the opportunity to invest in the future of our church in this important way. It was a task we took on with great love and sense of responsibility.

Thank you for your support, input, prayers and encouragement throughout this search process. We can indeed do great things together.
